Get answers to common questions about Brazilian Wax.
Ideally about a quarter inch (seven to ten millimeters) of hair allows the wax to grip properly. If hair is shorter waxing may be less effective; if longer we'll trim for comfort and optimal results.
Sensation varies, but most clients describe brief sharp tugs followed by relief. Regular waxing reduces discomfort over time as hair thins. We use calming pre- and post-care to minimize pain and can adjust technique for nervous clients.
Most Brazilian waxes take about twenty to forty-five minutes depending on hair amount and skin sensitivity. Allow extra time for consultation, medical considerations, or post-wax soothing if it's your first visit or you need special care.
Yes with precautions. Inform your esthetician about sensitivities, medications, recent sunburns, or conditions like eczema. We perform a consultation and may patch test, adjust products, or recommend alternatives if waxing isn't safe for your skin.
Exfoliate gently forty-eight hours before and avoid heavy creams or lotions the day of. Avoid sun exposure, retinoids, and self-tanners for a week prior. Arrive clean and product-free to help the wax adhere and reduce irritation.
Keep the area clean and avoid hot baths, saunas, intense exercise, and tight clothing for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Apply soothing aloe or recommended post-wax lotion, exfoliate gently after seventy-two hours, and use SPF if sun exposure occurs.
